Perhaps one of the last dominoes to fall in the recruiting class of 2017, highly regarded Arizona Basketball recruit Trevon Duval will decide soon.

Trevon Duval is not only one of the highest rated players and point guards in the 2017 class, he is also one the best players who is currently uncommitted. Arizona Basketball, however, is doing everything within its power to get him to Tucson.

Duval was a standout point guard at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, this past year, helping guide his team to a 26-2 record his senior season in route to a McDonald’s All-American bid (a distinction given to basketball’s top high school players).

A fight to the finish for any school involved, it appears the ongoing battle for Duval’s services may soon be coming to an end.

Sean Miller and Arizona has made up a lot of ground to stay relevant in this recruitment.

Now after months of uncertainty, it appears Duval may be finally ready to make his college decision. As it stands, the recruitment has essentially come down to Duke (the perceived leader), Kansas, Arizona, Seton Hall and Baylor. It was announced via social media that a decision may be coming soon.

Take the last quote for what it’s worth, as many projections are saying Duval will likely be choosing Duke. Even 247’s crystal ball has Trevon picking the Blue Devils.

Hopefully the predictions are wrong, but certainly hard to deny. Maybe the addition of Lorenzo Romar helps Arizona, after all, Romar did coach one of the nation’s best point guards in Markelle Fultz at Washington. His commitment may be hinged on Rawle Alkins returning to Arizona or entering the NBA Draft with an agent. Currently, that decision is up in the air as well.

Duval will be showcased in the upcoming BallisLife All-American Game next Saturday, May 6th in Souther California. You are in luck because Zona Zealots will be there with their crew and will catch up with Arizona Commit Ira Lee as well as Brandon Randolph, and hope to speak to Duval as well.

Regardless, just by watching Duval’s highlights, the kid is a difference maker and will be a great college player wherever he plays.

At Zona Zealots, we’re interested in seeing where Duval is headed. Sometimes these picks are wrong, and maybe Arizona will get lucky and gain his commitment. Bear Down, Trevon and good luck!
