Another day, another LaVar Ball claim to be disputed, but this time, it has nothing to do with Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.

Will it ever end? I am completely stuck in Los Angeles with being a ginormous Lakers and Arizona Basketball fan. I thought I would just have to suffer listening to former UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball’s dad LaVar ball when following the Los Angeles Lakers. But no, I still have to suffer following my favorite NCAA Basketball team, the Arizona Wildcats?

Overtime just got a sensational sound bite from LaVar ball regarding him and his son, UCLA 2019 commit Lamelo Ball, taking on Shaq and 2018 Arizona commit Shareef O’Neal in a basketball game. The challenge came as a question to LaVar, the young reporter asking him if he heard Shareef said he could take LaMelo one-on-one. Notice, it wasn’t Liangelo Ball that was brought up, Liangelo is a freshman at UCLA and will play next season.

Frankly, I think Liangelo is getting short changed here. Liangelo Ball is bigger at 6-foot5 and 220 pounds vs. 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds. I had the pleasure, I am going to say that because it was, to watch Liangelo play at the Ballislife All-American Game, and he was pretty good, held his own against all the four and five-star players. I wouldn’t count him out honestly.

“Me and Melo against he and Shaq,” said LaVar Ball challenging the O’Neals, “We’ll kill ’em, we’ll kill ’em!” Then that LaVar Ball smile at the end. Shaking my head a whole bunch here are on so many levels. But you cannot challenge LaVar without getting the same back, so not a surprise here.

The O’Neals have come out of this smelling like roses, and they aren’t paying much mind to all this craziness, and also are serious about how Shareef is better than Melo. Please note, we usually don’t do this TMZ type reporting, but we couldn’t resist here, it’s not hurting anyone, but it sure is taking the UCLA vs. Arizona rivalry to a slightly new level. Father and son duos.

More response from Shaq, threatening to glue this wig to his head, hilarious!

Just to be totally clear, here is what our future Wildcat actually said that might have started this whole back and forth.

Shareef and Lamelo are friends, see?

Zona Zealots weren’t the only fans to react, here are a bunch of Twitter reactions for your ‘possible’ enjoyment:

Let’s face it, LaVar can say whatever he wants, and Shareef and Lamelo can remain, friends. Shaq took the wind out of these ridiculous ‘Balls could win in a two-on-two’ predictions. Not going to lie though, would love to see Arizona Basketball father son duo Shaq and Reef annihilate the UCLA family Balls, just for rivalry sake Dragon Ball Z style. “Just Saiyan!”
