The time has come folks! Game day has officially come. There are many traditions all across the globe, ranging many topics. From sitting down and opening presents Christmas morning, to the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, from the piercings local tribesmen get in Africa, us here in Arizona have our kind of tradition. That tradition is making the daily trek to Arizona Stadium to watch some local Arizona Football.

There are many things to be excited about now that football is finally here. The school year just started a few weeks ago, students will be excited to finally have that first big event of the year to go root for their Cats. Volleyball and Soccer games are in the books, but even the players on those respective teams know that nothing is bigger than football or basketball in Arizona.

After a disappointing season last year, Rich Rodriguez will look to bring in the new year with a dominating victory over NAU. This may not end up being a game that tests the Wildcats, and one thing is for certain though, there will be plenty of new faces. With up to ten plus freshman starting, things could get a little confusing for some of them. That said, the team went through their walk through on Friday and hit the La Paloma resort on Saturday to get ready for the big game today where they want to come out and dominate NAU.
One face that is not new is Brandon Dawkins, as the odds on favorite to start the game. Although he and Khalil Tate are listed as “or” on the depth chart, Dawkins will more than likely start the game. If all goes well, and the Wildcats run away with the game, he probably will not finish the game. This will be a blowout and Rodriguez could look to use this as an opportunity to see how the other three QB on the depth chart handles the spotlight.
