Arizona Basketball: Brandon Williams and Shareef O’Neal on campus for Red/Blue Game
By Nick Matt
One of the biggest Arizona Basketball traditions is the annual Red/Blue game, which is usually highlighted with current commits and/or high-profile recruits in attendance.
This year Shareef O’Neal and Brandon Williams will be in attendance. Williams has already said he wanted to go undefeated, so he is ready to lace them up. Very few college programs sell out a scrimmage with a Dunk contest but Arizona isn’t just any program. The atmosphere is just as electric as if it were any conference game. You wouldn’t think its just a scrimmage. It gives a chance for recruits to see how dedicated we are to our basketball program and student athletes.

Shareef and Brandon have both recently tweeted on their visits for the Red and Blue game on October 20th. With Arizona being picked by many to be the preseason No. 1 team in the nation. So this years Red/Blue game will be one for the ages, with future NBA talent all over the place. It’ll also be the first time Lorenzo Romar gets to see what a top-notch program looks like. Arizona basketball never stops no matter what obstacles come our way. Arizona Wildcat fans are some of the most loyal fans in the country and will surely appreciate Shareef and Brandon representing the future Wildcats. The will continue our outstanding tradition of winning basketball in Tucson.

Although Brandon Williams has visited Arizona a couple of times, he has never been on an official visit to Arizona even though he has already committed; this visit will show him first hand that he made the right decision with fans that care about winning and their players. The 6-foot-1 point guard from Encino, CA had enough faith in Miller to verbally commit to Arizona. The Red Blue game atmosphere shows recruits/commits how important Arizona fans take basketball.

Watching a dunk contest with the number 1 player in this class Deandre Ayton, Ira Lee, Emmanuel Akot, or Keanu Pinder among many other options. There will be future NBA talent all over the court, How can that not excite you as an incoming player? It’ll hurt to not see our Savage Rawle Alkins out there as we wish him a speedy recovery. He is the reigning dunk contest champ by jumping over Sean Miller as a freshman.
Here are some highlights from last season’s Red and Blue game:
