Crespi senior point guard Brandon Williams recommits to Arizona Basketball during the Ballislife All-American Game festivities.

Well, that was fun! Arizona Basketball back on track. Brandon Williams stood center court at the Ballislife All-American Game and thanked his Crespi Coaches, then his dad, then he paused. This was his moment. This was the moment he should have experienced the first time around after serious visits to other schools. Williams was about to announce which college he would commit too. But he had one person to thank first, his mom.

Williams is really close to his parents, but he choked up when he was about to thank his mom. His parents wanted him to give serious consideration to all three schools, Oregon, Gonzaga and Arizona, and then they left the decision up to him. Williams followed his heart, his dad’s words, and unzipped his hoodie and brandished that beautiful block /A\ on his chest.

More from Basketball Recruiting

I couldn’t hold it in, I had tried so hard not to say anything, to remain impartial. Even as the decision was about to be unveiled, I told myself not to react. Some would not take me seriously as a Contributor, not respect me, but frankly, I didn’t care! I let out all my emotion, my elation. I knew Wildcats fans had been sad when he and Shareef O’Neal de-committed, and I knew how happy they were going to be if he re-committed. I guess I channeled the fans, right there at that moment.

How many of you did a little dance? Let out a cheer? Maybe threw your hands in the air? A fist bump? I wish you could have been there with us, but we have the next best thing. An exclusive interview with Brandon after he announced his decision to return to Wildcats fans, he has a message for them. The video also includes his speech and his announcement along with highlights from the game:

In just a month, A Players Program went from no recruiting class to three commits and two grad transfers. Queue the media with projected starting line-ups! They’ve been waiting for this moment, I am sure it’s going to be a lot more fun to write about the Wildcats after Cinco de Mayo.

Arizona’s Ira Lee was pleased yesterday! Williams shared with ZZ that he really gets along with well with Lee Time.

Shareef O’Neal, who also starred in the Ballislife All-American Game, sent out his support for Williams:

After Williams committed, another former Arizona commits Jahvon Quinerly congratulated him:

When Brandon got home, he tweeted out his announcement:

Well, what do you all think? I think it’s going to be fun seeing who floats to the starter positions. Now if we can just get a big man, Arizona is really in business. I think it is safe to say, most of the fanbase is thrilled to bring in two experienced players and three-star recruits. Bear Down Arizona, Bear Down!
