Weeks after reporting the possibility of four-star quarterback Grant Gunnell possibly picking Arizona, he has officially committed to the Wildcats!

Get happy Wildcat fans! If you weren’t happy with the hiring of Kevin Sumlin or the transition of the Arizona Football program thus far, you can at least be excited about the commitment of four-star quarterback, Grant Gunnell.

In surprising, recruiting fashion the Wildcats pulled off the unthinkable. Gunnell, a highly regarded recruit and former commit to Sumlin while at Texas A&M, the Houston-based QB re-opened his recruitment back in January, leaving a chance for Arizona to enter this one.

It took no time for the new Wildcat staff to enter this recruitment, and use their strong relationship and rapport with Gunnell to make an immediate impact.

Over the next few months, Arizona and staff made a lot of traction here, and actually got Gunnell to visit Tucson, where he seemed to enjoy his visit!

Since then, we’ve been following the recruitment here, and had said it seemed like the Wildcats were gaining some momentum. It also came down to a point, that the talented quarterback was essentially considering just a handful of schools, with Arizona possibly being the leader.

Heck, a few 247Sports staffers were actually making their selections in favor for the Wildcats, perhaps indicating Gunnell could indeed commit to Arizona and very soon.

Well, on Wednesday afternoon, after much conjecture, Gunnell has decided to shut down his recruitment, picking the Wildcats!

The four-star signal caller decided to pick the Wildcats, despite holding various offers from; LSU, Ohio State, Oregon and Alabama among numerous others.

As far commitments go, Gunnell is a big one! He’s easily one of Arizona’s biggest commitments in recent history, and we can’t help but imagine what kind of impact he potentially brings.

Gunnell is well-connected and respected in Texas, and we can’t help but think this will only help Sumlin and the Wildcats’ recruiting efforts for 2019!

As we stated before, Gunnell possesses all the intangibles you could want in a quarterback! Big frame, big arm, accurate, quick decision making, everything!

His stats at the perennially talented St. Pius X High School in Houston, TX are really impressive! As a junior, Gunnell threw for 4,936 yards, with 61 passing touchdowns, to just six interceptions. He also added another 390 yards on the ground with eight touchdowns! Wow!

Just watch for yourself!
