Nico Mannion Looks To Play College Basketball In 2019 Instead of 2020, and Sean Miller hopes he chooses Arizona Basketball.

One of the nations top recruits both nationally and in the state of Arizona made an announcement today. It might not have been the news that Arizona Basketball fans were wishing for in a commitment to Sean Miller and his staff, but it was big! Nico Mannion will reclassify and be part of the 2019 recruiting class.

On a positive note, it could potentially help Arizona Basketball get back to where everyone expects them to be as far as highly-rated recruiting classes. Hopefully, Mannion will choose Arizona, and the program can get back to prominence in this area faster consistently getting top recruits to take their talents to Tucson.

More from Basketball Recruiting

With this announcement, Nico improves his stock as he is now nationally ranked No. 11 in the 2019 class. This is a nine-spot improvement from being ranked twentieth nationally in the 2020 class. With this being said, his recruitment process about to go to the next level. As other top schools such as Duke are also looking to lure Nico into playing for their University.

Nico is playing for Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona. In 76 games with the Pioneers, Nico averages 16 points a game along with four assists and three rebounds. There is no doubt about this year being Nico’s last year in high school that he will look to go out with a bang. Hopefully, he will carry that momentum right on down the I-10 to Tucson.

Josh Green is playing for the IMG Academy and is looking to put together another solid year. As of last year, he was averaging 27 points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists. Standing tall at 6-foot-6, there no doubt that Josh would fit the guard-oriented system that coach Miller is looking to put into place.
