With the past behind them, the Arizona Basketball team and head coach Sean Miller have a bright future ahead of them

Many were quick to tell us Arizona Basketball fans, that Sean Miller has given up on recruiting in light of the FBI investigation. That Arizona Basketball would need years to recover from the reports that had Sean Miller paying recruits to put on the red and blue uniform. Along with saying that Miller would not be able to get five-star recruits to come to play for him. Even with all this, as a fan base and a University we put our trust into Sean Miller and oh my has it paid off!

There was a time period were the recruiting trail for Arizona Basketball was silent as ESPN and others spread rumors like a wildfire of Sean Miller allegedly having a pay-to-play agenda. As each day gave us a new development it became apparent to many that the picture that many highly sought after sports stations  and reports tried to paint of Sean Miller and Arizona basketball never came together. Leaving many of us questioning, who can we trust?

As a fan base, we were still shaking off the news that completely caught us off guard right as a press conference was announced by President Robbins, Athletic Director Dave Heeke and the University of Arizona. Our hearts sank into our chest as the thoughts of ‘what could have been’ and ‘what will be’ consumed our thoughts.

What seemed like hours was actually only a few minutes before we could deeply exhale as we found out that Sean Miller was returning to the sideline to coach our Wildcats under the University\ies full support. As quickly as Arizona runs a fast break, the fans stood tall behind their coach and fought tooth and nail against those who called for his firing.

With the sense of being betrayed by certain media outlets still at the forefront of our minds. It was clear that players, coaches, staff and the Wildcat fan base knew that it was time to turn the page. It was time to focus on the path forward and leave those negative thoughts in the past.

As an early exit from the 2018 March Madness Tournament was a clear sign that the damage of the FBI report was too much to overcome. The rally cry still rang loud and clear that there is still a sense of urgency to get coach Sean Miller freed from false accusations and to get him to his first Final Four.

Good things take time but no one knew how much time it would take for the Wildcat Basketball program to regroup and rebound from one of the most drama-filled seasons ever. Each fan scurried to find a sign that the tide was changing.

Good news for us all, it did! As this team gained the commit of key players such as Justin Coleman, Ryan Luther, Brandon Williams, Devonaire Doutrive along with Omar Thielemans. Not mention gaining the now eligible Chase Jeter. This group of incoming players along with the returners have made it know that they have no intentions of taking the back seat in the PAC-12. They fully intend on having an underdog mindset to help them propel their season to another PAC-12 championship and hopefully lengthy run come March.

While optimism is high for this years group of Wildcats, it continues to build for the 2019 season. As Sean Miller and company are blazing a trail and it seems to be just getting started. Miller has already gained the commitment of two five-star recruits in Nico Mannion and  Josh Green, and a three-star (once a four-star) seven-foot big man Christian Koloko.

Those who were quick to doubt Sean Miller and throw the Arizona Basketball team under the bus are taking back their harsh words. While those who put trust in our coach are reaping the benefits. Just remember, dark times are not always as dark as they seem and if you keep on walking, pushing forward there is light at the end of the tunnel.

This time that light might have a little extra shine to it after the gauntlet that was just thrown at us. And just as the clouds part and the sun shines through, the FBI Court trial including former assistant coach Emmanual Richardson begins. Note, that has not deterred five-star players from committing to the UofA. As always fans, BEAR DOWN!
