Arizona Basketball has seen a lot of changes in the last couple of months, which has impacted the possible rotations for the 2019-20 season.

Changes. Since last season has ended there have been many changes with the current Arizona Basketball roster.  Players graduating and leaving, new incoming talent and those returning for another year have impacted the possible rotations for the 2019-20 season. Time to take a look at what the rotations could be.

As of right now, with all the recent changes happening head coach Sean Miller has 13 scholarship spots filled. That means he has a lot of options when it comes to the starting lineup and how he will utilize his bench. These are good problems to have as a head coach.

One of the main criticisms of Miller is his inability to have the correct rotations. There is some blame to be had, but ultimately it’s up to the players to perform at their full potential when called upon. If a player isn’t performing well or having an off night, yes the player should be rotated out. But when a bucket or a stop is needed, these players that are getting the deserved minutes need to step up!

Based on their overall skill set and the immediate impact they can make, there are five players that stand out as possible starters, which we have mentioned before:

  1. Nico Mannion
  2. Brandon Williams
  3. Josh Green
  4. Ira Lee
  5. Chase Jeter

Now because of Brandon Williams knee situation, UC Irvine senior transfer Max Hazzard is likely to replace him. That’s the type of luxury Miller has with this roster. He can bring in another experienced guard with good ball handling and shooting skills into the starting lineup

As the season gets underway, will be very interesting to see what rotation Miller sticks with for the majority of the year. Here is what we think could be the likely rotations (subject to change)

  1. Nico Mannion/Max Hazzard
  2. Brandon Williams/ Devonaire Doutrive / Max Hazzard
  3. Josh Green/Dylan Smith
  4. Ira Lee/ Stone Gettings/ Zeke Nnaji
  5. Chase Jeter / Zeke Nnaji / Christian Koloko

Because of their versatility, several Wildcat players can realistically play multiple positions. Again, another bonus Miller has with this season’s roster. It’s just a matter of him deciding to take full advantage. He’s been known to use a limited rotation, but maybe this is the year he tries something different? We can all hope.
