Arizona Basketball: Fans have spoken, Nico Mannion the one to watch

We asked the fans what’s the one player they are excited to watch this upcoming Arizona Basketball, unanimous choice was Nico Mannion.

There are many reasons to be excited this upcoming Arizona Basketball season, one of them being Nico Mannion aka the Red Mamba. We posed the question to our fans, asking which one player are they most excited about watching this season. The choice was unanimous – Nico Mannion!

The first to sign with Arizona for the Class of 2019, Mannion looks to help lead the Wildcats into a deep postseason run. Based on the current roster lineup, he is projected to be a starter alongside possible Brandon Williams or Max Hazzard. Not just a starter, but a leader on this team.

Mannion has a lot of qualities that fans are excited about. At the top of that list, is his athleticism. He can shoot the ball from all ranges, has incredible court vision, can dunk with authority, handles the ball well, defends and has excellent footwork. These are all reasons why he will be exciting to watch. Would not be surprised to see a few ESPN Top 10 plays this season by the Red Mamba.

He hasn’t even practiced or even played one game at Arizona yet he has already made an impact to the program. Possible Wildcat prospects who respect Mannion’s game, are getting inspired to play for Arizona because he is there.

This concept of signees indirectly or directly recruiting other top talents to join them is nothing new. Look at the NBA. A lot of the top teams are stacked with NBA All-Star players because they want to play together and try to win a championship. That’s what we are hoping this season with Mannion and Green playing together!

Mannion is currently projected to be a top lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Depending on how this season plays out, he could move up in the draft. Could he be a Phoenix Sun? Maybe a New York Knick in 2020? Who knows. Can’t wait to find out!

Other players that fans are looking forward to this season include Ira Lee, Devonaire Doutrive, Zeke Nnaji, and Josh Green. There have been some early pictures of these players in action during practice. Wow. They look ready to go.
