Arizona Basketball recruit JT Thor has decided reclassify to the Class of 2020 and make his commitment announcement on August 26th.

One of the top recruits for the Class of 2021, JT Thor, announced he would be reclassifying to 2020 and make his official commitment announcement on August 26th, his birthday. His last name of Thor suits him well as he is a very powerful and versatile player that would fit in well with Arizona Basketball.

Arizona did offer Thor on June 10, 2019, but did not receive a visit from him. That doesn’t mean though that Arizona isn’t in the running. According to Stock Risers, Thor indicates that “Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Memphis, Oregon, and others have been talking to me.” Right now according to Rivals, fans are predicting Kansas. But anything is possible.

Thor is listed as a Top 15 player for the Class of 2021 and likely remains in the same spot for the Class of 2020. At 6 foot 8 and 190 pounds, he’s got game. The whole package. Whatever you like to call it. Thor can ball.

He likes to shoot the three, but can also finish it with authority down low. The one thing Thor will need to work on is his strength and conditioning. For a big man of his size, he will need to bulk up in order to compete down low at the college level.

Thor has really nice handles for a big man at the power forward position. He can also create his own shot off the dribble. His versatility will force his opponents to respect his outside game, but then that opens up options for Thor in the paint.

At Arizona, he would fit in well because of his size, versatility, and ability to make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor. Currently, the Wildcats have one commit so far in Dalen Terry and if they were to land Thor that would be a huge boost to the Class of 2020.

Everyone is thinking it’s been Kansas and Kentucky because of where he is currently playing basketball, West Virginia. He also has taken a visit to Kentucky a couple of times. Never count out Sean Miller and his ability to recruit elite talent.

At Zona Zealots, we look forward to Thor’s announcement on his birthday, August 26th. For now, we all just need to wait patiently and see what happens next. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
