Arizona Basketball’s latest offer goes to Class of 2021 four-star recruit Peyton Watson.

The Arizona Basketball Red and Blue Game is a little over a month away, but that hasn’t stopped Sean Miller and his staff in sending out offers. Their latest goes to Class of 2021 four-star recruit Peyton Watson of Long Beach Poly, same high school two former Wildcat great Ryan Anderson and Rick Anderson played at.  That’s a good omen for sure!

He is the first small forward to have received an offer for the Class of 2021. Depending on who commits and return for the 2021-22 season, the opportunity may be there for Watson to play a lot of minutes or being a contributor off the bench. Either way, he’ll have the chance to prove his worth to Miller.

Listed at 6 foot 6 and 170 pounds, he has the framework for a small forward, but with his shooting abilities, he could flex into the shooting guard role. More and more players like Watson are able to play multiple positions, making them valuable assets to whichever team they join.

More from Basketball Recruiting

According to 247 Sports, he is a four-star recruit and ranked 40 in the nation. Watson currently has received offers from 10 other schools, including Arizona and seven other Pac-12 schools. Playing on the west coast, not surprising to see the majority of his offers coming from west coast schools.

In his sophomore season for Long Beach Poly, Watson averaged 8.6 points, 5.8  rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks in 5 games played.

Watson had this to say about Arizona, “That’s just a standout program,” Watson told Rivals of UA. “Every time I watch their games the crowd is super intense and super locked into the game. I just like the atmosphere they have when they’re playing.”

He in can score in multiple ways off the dribble, has good handles, can pull up and shoot the jumper and even step back and shoot the three. Like most young players in high school, he will need to bulk in order to compete on the college level.

At Zona Zealots, we would like to congratulate Peyton Watson on receiving an over to play for Arizona Basketball. Long Beach Poly has already produced two great former Wildcats, hopefully, Watson can be the third. As always, Bear Down Arizona!
