The criticism Arizona Football has faced this season has motivated them all the way atop the Pac-12 South.

Since the season began, the criticism has been non-stop for Arizona Football. From the calling of firing defensive coordinator Marcel Yates because the defense hasn’t performed or even all the way up the ladder to head coach Kevin Sumlin because of the team’s overall performance. But wait, it doesn’t stop there. Some even say that Khalil Tate should not see another snap on the field because Grant Gunnell is a better fit for the program due to the fact that he is more of a pro-style quarterback. Just stop!

All this heat and criticism came after week zero which resulted in a loss to Hawaii that saw the team fall one yard short of forcing overtime. Since then the Wildcats have been on a tear and the critics have slowly crawled back in their holes.

Many questioned Sumlin and if he could change the path that the Wildcats have been on the past few years which saw them struggling to get to six wins and reach a bowl game. Some even said Sumlin was at the University of Arizona as a way to just gain a paycheck and whether he won or loss did not affect him in any way. This was all because he showed no emotion on the sideline like former coaches Mike Stoops and Rich Rodriguez did.

Some examples of the media and fans of criticism Yates was facing early on: How could you possibly give up 41 points to NAU? How are you going to win when you give up 411 yards to Texas Tech? Those are fair to make but at the end of the day if your winning games that’s what truly matters.

Oh and that Heisman candidate from just a few years ago that everyone fell in love with as he ran laps around opponents defense. Suddenly he is washed up and no good? Did we somehow forget that he was injured for the most part of last year?

Arizona Football is currently quieting all critics. Over the past four weekends, the Wildcats have not lost. They have handed out L’s to NAU, Texas Tech, UCLA and most recently Colorado. During this time period, they have changed the outlook on the program moving forward as they sit alone atop the Pac-12 South.

In the past three games, opponents have only scored 3 points in the fourth quarter. While the offense has been moving up and down the field to a tune of 1,473 total yards. Oh ya and that QB Tate threw over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. Still want to get rid of the defensive coordinator, head coach, and QB?

Some fans are starting to sound a lot like our salty rivals from the north also known as the Sun Devils. As they are down on their luck after they lost to Colorado at home while we beat them on the road.

It does not stop there as we have grown well a custom to the media only likes to focus on the negative with Arizona Athletics. As yet another reporter who covers ASU wants to bash on Arizona football.

Last time I checked on Saturday night Arizona is the ONLY undefeated team in conference play in the Pac-12 South. What does that happen to mean? Well, that would mean the Arizona Wildcats are heading into this weekends game vs the Washington Huskies as the No.1 team in the Pac-12 South…take that!
