Arizona Athletics: How to convert your significant other to a Wildcats fan

Ever been stuck with a significant other that isn’t an Arizona Athletics fan? Well here’s a little help to convert your love into becoming an Arizona Wildcats fan!

There are a ton of schools to choose from out there, but true Wildcat fans know that there is only one true University to cheer for, and that is of course being the University of Arizona! But what if you’re with someone that isn’t a fan of Arizona Athletics?

As a recently married man, I am all too familiar with the struggles of converting your significant other to be Arizona Wildcat fan, and unfortunately not everyone is “Born to be Wildcats” as the ‘Pride of Arizona’ often plays.

However, if you’re confronted with that same, unfortunate problem, here is your guide to ensure your significant other will become a Wildcat fan in no time!

First off, in a very subjective manner, the first rule of being a Wildcat fan, should be to “always talk about the Wildcats”. All true Wildcats fans know how easy it is to ramble on about our Cats, regardless of the sport.

From basketball, to football, to baseball, to softball, to soccer and so on, there is so much to talk about. The more you talk about the Wildcats, especially to your significant other, it will force your to think hear more positively about the ol’ Red and Blue!

The next step would be to take your significant other down to the “Old Pueblo”, or also sometimes referred to as the “Dirty T”.

No better way to show off the amazing school, quite like doing a tour through campus. The red brick buildings and green grass will surely convince your significant other that Tucson is the place to be.

Next would be to purchase a pair of tickets to an Arizona Athletics sporting event. Whether it be football, basketball, baseball, soccer or softball, this would be the best way to show your significant other how great Arizona Athletics are, and how passionate us Wildcats can be!

A little tip, if your significant other grew up around other Pac-12 schools make sure you take them to a game that Arizona plays one of them. An example of this would be if your special someone is from Southern California and grew up around USC fans. The best way to convert them is to show them Arizona handing out a loss to their former, favorite team.

Once inside the sporting the event, I know they wouldn’t be able to do anything else but realize just how special Arizona Athletics is and is going to be. From the sellout crowds to the environment that the Zona Zoo creates night in and night out.

Not to mention how every single person is decked out in the red and blue. Surely after all of this, they will be convinced that there is NO OTHER place quite like the University of Arizona!

While these are only a few key tips to convert your special someone to becoming a Wildcat fan, please feel free to get creative such as random bursting out into the “Bear Down Arizona” fight song.
