Arizona Basketball will be hosting a big-time recruit this weekend as No.5 ranked Ziaire Williams makes his official visit.

No.5. That is the current rank of one of the top recruits in the Class of 2020, Ziaire Williams, who is making his official to Arizona this weekend. Arizona Basketball does have one top recruit already committed next season, Dalen Terry and are looking to add another in the form of Williams. If the Wildcats were too land him, it would be a huge addition to the 2020-21 season.

He recently joined Sierra Canyon High school, where he plays alongside side Bronny James and Zaire Wade. What a trio! It’s the NBA version of the stacked superstar teams. These three are destined to be all be one and done in college and have successful careers in the NBA. Maybe they may even all play together on the same teams. Who knows?

Currently listed at 6 foot 7 and 175 pounds, Williams is listed as small forward but can play multiple positions. Because of his overall talent level, he is ranked the No.1 small forward in the nation and the No.3 ranked player in the state of California. It’s no surprise that many top tier schools are putting a lot of effort into recruiting him. He’s that talented.

More from Basketball Recruiting

Williams has received 17 offers and the majority of them have been Pac-12 schools. Back at the beginning of August though, he named his Top 7, which included Arizona. Of these seven, he has made two official visits, USC and North Carolina and the Oregon visit date is currently being set. Nice to see the Pac-12 conference getting in the mix as one of the schools with a chance to land a five-star recruit.

He has all the qualities that make him an immediate impact player. Versatility, quickness, excellent ball handles, supreme court version and elite ball shooter from all ranges. He can pull up, create his own shot off the dribble, step back knock down the three or fly right past his opponent for the authoritative finish. Wow.

See for yourself as him and Bronny played their first game together for Sierra Canyon:

His style of play would fit in perfectly with Miller’s system. The only thing, like most elite players out of high school, Williams would have to adjust to defense at the college level. Don’t see that being a problem for him considering how naturally talented he is.

Imagine if he were to choose to Arizona, maybe Bronny might follow? Just saying. I mean that’s how it work’s in this era of college basketball recruiting. Top recruits want to play alongside each other. No better play to do that then Arizona! At Zona Zealots, we are excited to have one of the best players in the Class of 2020 visit Arizona. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
