As Covid cases continue to rise in the state of Arizona, there is now talk of Arizona Football potentially seeing their 2020 season delayed.

Things are heating up in Tucson, and again no I am not talking about the heat, or the on-going ‘Big Horn’ fire. No, in fact we are seeing an increase in the positive cases of Covid. And with the Arizona Football season just around the corner, that could put a damper on the season returning in a timely fashion.

As you may have seen, it’s that the University of Arizona has halted in allowing additional student athletes in coming back to campus, than what were already on campus.

Certainly a smart move in protecting their student athletes if you ask me, but also it’s important to continue to be aggressive in preventing the spread of Covid.

Well, with the positive cases steadily rising in the state, and the 2020 season being roughly just 59 days away at this point, the season could very well be in jeopardy as well.

If you had seen already, we did talk about this a little bit, highlighting that Arizona Football could see some affects with those Covid cases rising.

While nothing is indeed definitive as of yet, it is at least concerning, and it seems like there is growing momentum towards pushing out the season a ways. Already there have been other programs exploring those options.

To me, it’s only a matter of time until the University of Arizona does the same.

Ultimately, while the season is important for financial reasons, the safety and health of our student athletes is far more important, and if the season is delayed, that’s not a bad thing.

Especially as some student athletes have been vocal in expressing their concern about returning to action a little too early…

Either way, it’ll be interesting to see how this all pans out in the coming weeks/ months. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
