2018 Arizona Basketball Recruit Emmanuel Akot Deciding Soon
Highly touted five-star forward Emmanuel Akot in the class of 2018, could be making his school selection in the coming weeks.
Perhaps the first chip of the 2018 recruiting class may fall for the Wildcats, once highly touted forward Emmanuel Akot makes his college decision.
It was announced yesterday, that Akot could be nearing a decision, and the presumed leaders in this recruitment are Arizona and Utah.
Akot, the 15h overall rated player in the class of 2018 according to Scout, has seen his recruitment take off, but could be close to shutting it down.
A versatile athlete at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, UT, Akot has a bit of an interesting background. A native of Canada, Akot recently decided to move to the United States to continue playing basketball.

Standing at an impressive 6-foot-8, 190-pounds, Akot has predicated himself on his great athleticism and superior defensive ability. Thanks in large part to those attributes, he has seen his recruitment really take off.
Draft Express seemed to have these glowing remarks about Akot and his respective game:
"Unlimited energy. Plays with a very high intensity level on both ends of the floor. Tough, no-nonsense demeanor that coaches will love.Multi-positional defender that showed the ability to guard anywhere from 1-4 at this camp. Relishes the challenge of stopping the opposing team’s best playerVery good athlete. Good combination of quickness and power, although not incredibly explosive"
Once a under-the-radar type of recruit, Akot had seen his four-star ranking move up to the coveted, five-star ranking recently. Raking in multiple offers in recent months, he certainly hasn’t looked back since then.
His four leaders (in no particular order) are; Arizona, Utah, Oregon and Louisville, with Arizona and Utah being the presumed favorites.
After visiting a myriad of schools including Arizona when they played UCLA most recently, it seems Akot may finally be ready to make his decision. That could spell good news for Wildcats fans.
As it stands, 247sports.com’s crystal ball prediction is picking Utah, but that is with just one prediction. So take that with a grain of salt.
Whoever gets Akot, will certainly have a great athlete, and one that can do a number of things really well. Just by looking at his highlights, you can see why head coach Sean Miller wants him at Arizona.
