Sean Miller and his coaching staff are making a serious push for Class of 2021 combo guard Devin Askew to be part of Arizona Basketball.

These past couple of months Arizona Basketball head coach Sean Miller and his coaching staff are making a serious push to get one of the top guards in the Class of 2021 Devin Askew. It would be a huge get for the program if they were able to recruit him. Knowing how big this could be, they are “all in.”

About a month ago, they made an offer to Askew, who currently has received offers from 15 other schools. Some of the top college programs in the nation are going after him including Kansas, who just offered him a few days ago. Other Pac-12 schools as well have gotten into the mix. Everyone wants him on their team, that’s how good he is!

Askew recently made an unofficial trip to Arizona and spent some time visiting with the coaches and checking out the program. He had this to say after taking part in a Section 7 event in Brophy, “I love the coaches and the environment there,” Askew said of his visit to Arizona. “It’s a basketball school, that’s what it is … Arizona is a school you can’t turn down.”

The Wildcats were one of the first schools early on, to express and show interest in Askew. That is a key part in recruiting. If you are able to show interest early on, it says a lot about how much that school is interested in wanting to have that individual on their team. Recruits remember that and it plays a role in them deciding where they want to play.

All of the Wildcats coaching staff were in attendance to watch his performance to the Section 7 event. For all of them to be there, Miller, Jack Murphy and Justin Gainey, says how serious they are about Askew.

According to 247 Sports, he is currently ranked No.15 overall in the Class of 2021. Listed as combo guard, Askew is extremely versatile and can do it all on both ends of the floor.

Askew is the type of player in which you can build a team around. His style of play would fit in perfectly with Arizona. By the time he is ready to play college basketball the Wildcats are going to a need a point guard to run the show and someone who can make an immediate impact. The Wildcats coaching staff understands this and is one of the main reasons why they are pushing hard for Askew.
