Arizona Basketball has a significant presence in the NBA. Time to present the 2019 All-Wildcat NBA Team based on current players in the league.

There are currently 13 former Arizona Basketball players playing in the NBA. From the oldest former Wildcat Andre Iguodala to the most recent drafted Deandre Ayton, there is a vast amount of talent and entertainment value these players bring to the NBA. Let’s take a look into those that make up the All-Wildcat NBA team.

Depending on whether you’re looking for a more offensive or defensive-minded team or even an all-around team, there are different options when putting together this team. We’ve approached this All-Wildcat NBA team from the perspective of the team that would be the winning lineup.

This is the type of list that a lot of people will agree to disagree on. That’s fine. We welcome all opinions at Zona Zealots. When trying to put together a team made up of the best of the best, especially at the NBA level, it can be difficult. There are just too many former Wildcat players to choose!

More from Cats in the Pros

We’ve gone ahead and selected the All-Wildcat NBA based on several different factors:

  • Current players in the league
  • The overall impact they have had at their position
  • Compared their strengths and weaknesses to others at the same position
  • Current NBA statistics

All-Wildcat NBA Team:

  1. T.J. McConnell
  2. Allonzo Trier
  3. Andre Iguodala
  4. Lauri Markkanen
  5. Deandre Ayton

Sixth-man: Aaron Gordon

Put this team against any other starting five in the NBA and they would have a legit chance of winning. None of these players actually play on the same team, but there are some pairings of former Wildcats who have. Markkanen and Rawle Alkins on the Chicago Bulls, Trier and Kadeem Allen on the New York Knicks, and Solomon Hill and Stanley Johnson on the New Orleans Pelicans.

The 2019 NBA Free Agency has begun and the possibility of more former Wildcats playing together could happen. We’ll just have to wait and see how everything plays out.

At Zona Zealots, let us know your thoughts on the NBA All-Wildcat team. One thing we can all agree on is there is plenty of red and blue blood running through the NBA. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
