One of Arizona Basketball’s top priorities Devin Askew recently announced on social media he will be making his commitment announcement soon.
A lot of commitment announcements have been happening lately, hopefully, Arizona Basketball will be next in line. One of the top combo guards for the Class of 2021, which could change, and biggest priorities for the Wildcats, Devin Askew, recently announced on social media that a commitment is coming soon.
Back in June he made an unofficial visit to Arizona and recently Sean Miller watched him play for AAU Team Why Not. Other head coaches John Calipari and Chris Mack have also recently met with Askew. 247 Sports Crystal ball is indicating that Mack’s Lousiville Cardinals is the favorite.
Don’t count out Arizona as they only have one commit for the Class of 2020 in Dalen Terry and if Askew’s is seriously considering reclassifying he would fit in perfectly the Wildcats next season. There will be that need for a combo guard to run the show with Brandon Williams (Nico Mannion will likely be one and done, and Hazzard will be gradutating).

Arizona, Kentucky, Lousiville, Memphis, and Villanova make up Askew’s final five. Listed as the No.10 ranked player according to 247 Sports, makes complete sense that his final list of schools is made up of these top choices.
Whichever school he does choose, Askew will make an immediate impact. He’s been dominating this past summer and has been one of the most sought out high school players.
Listed at 6 foot 3 and 195 pounds, Askew already fits the framework for the perfect size point guard. Just imagine when he gets into the college weight room, watch out. Plus his athletic abilities make him that much harder to contain.
Stop and pop from three or in the paint, drive and dish, Askew has the skillset to back up his confidence and swag. From a coach standpoint, gotta love what he brings to the game. His understanding of how to control the game as a point guard plus his ability to hit clutch shots, can’t ask for anything better.
At Zona Zealots, we are excited about the real possibility of landing Devin Askew. He would be the perfect fit for this program. As always, Bear Down Arizona!
