Arizona Basketball Recruiting: Five-star recruit Cassius Stanley selects Arizona into his top six

Arizona Wildcat basketball recruiting got big news as five-star athlete Cassius Stanley choose Arizona as one his top six schools.

Five stars. As the Class of 2018 has a couple more openings, it’s never to early to look ahead to the future. And that future just got a whole lot more exciting. Five star shooting guard Cassius Stanley from Studio City, CA announced on Twitter that he has selected Arizona as part of his top six schools. That’s what I’m talking about!

The other five schools he has chosen are among the elite programs in college basketball: Oregon, USC, Texas, Kansas and UCLA. Four out of the six schools are from the Pac-12 conference and two are from the Big-12. Whichever school is lucky enough to get Stanley, they will be gaining an immediate impact player.

Coach Sean Miller and his staff have already made some offers for the Class of 2019 including Max Agbonkpolo and Josh Green, but the addition of Stanley would put the Wildcats as one the top recruiting classes for 2019. There is still plenty of time before any final decision is made, but making it into his top six his huge!

Our own very Zona Zealots site expert Shereen Rayan got to watch him play and interview him at last year’s Pangos All-American Camp. He even mentions in the interview when the time comes Arizona will be in the top six and it did!

*Fun fact: This In The Front Row video was filmed and edited by Khalil’s Tate brother Akili Tate

Scary to think that this video is from a year ago and he has gotten even better since then. The explosiveness he displays is unreal! His jump shot is smooth as silk. His ball handling skills are solid and have even broken a few ankles along way.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 180 lbs, what Stanley is doing right now in high school and is capable of when he goes to college is going to be a “challenge” for any team to guard. When watching him play, he seems to have that natural ability to create his own shot and has no fear at all when attacking them rim.

Stanley currently plays for Sierra Canyon High School. They won the 2017-18 CIF Open Division Championship and he was the leading scorer with 23 points. He also plays for California Supreme on the AAU circuit. Plus, he is also took part in the Nike 17U EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League), where he has averaged 15.5 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game and 2.5 assists per game in 10 games played.

This past year he also took part in the Pangos All-American Camp again. Sit back, relax and enjoy the Stanley show!
