Arizona Basketball recruiting never stops and this time Aidan Mahaney is the latest to receive an offer.
Future of Arizona Basketball continues to look bright. The Wildcat just made an offer to one of the best point guards in the state of California and in the country, Aidan Mahaney. There are a lot of reasons to be excited about this offer, one of those being the connection and relationship he has with Nico Mannion.
As we have previously mentioned, Mannion’s decision to come to Arizona has influenced a lot of potential players, like Mahaney, to strongly considering coming to Arizona. They won’t get the chance to play with him (likely to be one-and-done), but still what he is doing and will continue to do for this program speaks volumes.
Listed at 6 foot 2, 150lbs, Mahaney is a sophomore currently playing for Campolindo High School. He is several years away from college basketball, which will give him time to add strength and size to his game. Once he has done that watch out, this dude is going be scary.

In his freshman season, Mahaney averaged 15.8 points, 2.8 assists, 4.0 rebouns, and 1.3 steals per game in 31 games played. He also help lead Campolindo to their first ever California State Champhionship, defeating Colony of Ontario 55-40. Mahaney contributed 19 points and nine rebounds in the victory.
Mahaney also plays for the Under Armor AAU team West Coast Elite. A couple months ago he took part in the Memorial Day Classic – wow!
He’s got the whole package. The one thing that stands out more than anything is his passing abilities. Whether it’s off a drive to the basket, no-look pass in the halfcourt or passing the ball down the court for the easy finish for his teammates, Mahaney knows how to dish off sweet looking dimes.
His handles are ridiculous. His ability to pull up for the jumper or step back and knock down a three is unguardable. He has no fear what so ever in taking it to aggressively to the rim. As Mahaney gets stronger and quicker, good luck in guarding him.
If Arizona were to get him to commit, that would be huge! They are already seeking out one of the top point guards in the country for 2021 in Devin Askew. Why not seek one out for 2022.
He currently as four other earlier offers from Hawaii, Northern Arizona, San Francisco. By the time he is ready to go to college, there will be plenty of more schools in the mix, guarantee that!
At Zona Zealots, we would like to congratulate Aidan Mahaney on receiving an offer to play for Arizona Basketball. Never doubt coach Sean Miller and his staff the ability to seek out the best young talent in high school basketball. Bear Down, Arizona!
